ACT IV READING NOTES AND THOUGHTS
- The act starts off with the witches doing some rituals and being their weird selves
- Macbeth shows up wanting questions because he is getting a bit scared
- He finds out that he has no immediate threats, but he will kill Macduff just to be safe
- When he asks more questions, he is warned to stop asking so many questions
- The witches leave Macbeth and mock his worries
- This is where Macbeth declares that he will execute his thoughts from now on without thinking
- Lady Macduff is complaining about her husband running away
- She then is warned to run away with her son, but she doesn't listen and her son dies and she is then pursued
- There seems to be a little bit of friction between Macduff and Malcolm
- But they do agree that Scotland is screwed pretty much whether they kill Macbeth or not because they won't be good kings either
- Macduff finds out that his family dies and vows to take revenge on the people who did it, mostly Macbeth
Macbeth has become so paranoid about his life now he has to turn to the witches to clarify his future. Him seeing the ghost of Banquo once again might signify that he is feeling a bit of guilt, but at this point in the play he could care less about the other people and just wants to keep himself alive. So now he vows to let his actions speak, with his first order of business is killing off Macduff and his family. This just shows that he is really scared of competition and even though he may not regret what he did, all this will eventually catch up to him in the near future.

So I went from sports motivation in general to trying to motivate the Righetti Football team that I was apart of for four years. I know the have potential, they just need the right motivation, so I would like to interview the coaching staff and learn more as to what they are doing to motivate. And hopefully reaching my goal of being a coach myself one day.

ACT III READING NOTES & ANALYSIS
- Banquo suspicious of Macbeth
- Macbeth and Banquo have a conversation of their plans, this is when Macbeth finds out where Banquo is headed so he can send people to murder him
- Rationalizes by saying that if he doesn't kill, he will be killed
- Then Macbeth finds some people willing to kill Banquo and Fleance
- Macbeth then reports to Lady Macbeth, but this time with a much stronger tone, implying that he has taken charge of operations
- Things move to Banquo where he is killed, but Fleance was able to escape
- They report to Macbeth to tell them that half the job is done, Macbeth is mad because he has even bigger issues now that Fleance will seek vengeance
- Macbeth then sees Banquo's ghost and decides to toast Banquo
- Lady Macbeth insults Macbeth again and thinks he's crazy and not a man
- The dinner party ends bad as guests get super freaked out
- The witches make an appearance again, but this time with Hecate, the goddess of witches and come up with a plan to tell Macbeth
- Things go worse for Macbeth as people start to connect the dots
- Malcolm and Mcduff then are helped by King Edward of England to fight Macbeth
It looks like Macbeth's paranoia is getting to him. It's pretty evident that Macbeth is starting to lose it. This is very similar to Hamlet, but I think there is a huge difference between them, Hamlet was just pretending and Macbeth really actually is crazy. I mean he is sort of over thinking the witches prophecy by immediately labeling Banquo and company as enemies. It's weird how he could of not thought that when he dies of natural causes or something of that nature, then Banquo's family will take over. He also overreacted too much to the deaths of Duncan and Banquo, which was exposed by Malcolm and Mcduff. Macbeth is finally getting caught up to and things are just going to get worse in act IV

WHAT ABOUT MY MASTERPIECE?
So far for my masterpiece, I know that I would like to conduct several interviews, but I do not know the questions I would like to ask. Right now I have a few people in mind, but would like to do some more research to have more variety with my interviews. I don't know how I will present it exactly, but I will focus more on that when I am satisfied with what I have in terms of the main aspects of the presentation. Shakespeare had all day to do things because he didn't have a job as far as I know, so in turn he just focused most of his attention to his plays. He was probably really busy, but most of it was because of his literature.
LOVE IS BLIND
Macbeth sees his wife as very cunning and knows what to do, but he does not always agree with what she has to say. As of now it seems like he is kind of afraid of her because he doesn't seem to talk back to her when she questions his manhood. Or it could just be a strong respect for her because he thinks that she has some valid points to make. As for the audience, I personally think she is crazy and psychotic. She seems really power hungry and her dialogue does not help especially when she ask for more masculinity to go through with the murder. That also explains why she is psychotic, she asked for poison in her breasts and I took that as she is unstable and needs some serious help.

TRYING TO UNDERSTAND MACBETH
- the witches are super weird and seem really devious
- Shakespeare is trying to portray Macbeth as a noble man by murdering a traitor
- but at the same time, showing how ruthless he could be
- Macbeth begins his ascension by being named the Thane of Cawdor
- Macbeth and Banquo encounter the witches and wonder about what their may happen in their futures
- Macbeth learns that he has been crowned the thane of Cawdor
- The king along with Macbeth and Malcolm rejoice over the old thane's death
- the king announces that Malcolm will be named Prince or Cumberland
- Macbeth, in an aside, talks about how Malcolm is his only obstacle to becoming king
- Macbeth meets with Lady Macbeth and tells her about the prophecy
- She goes crazy and says that Duncan needs to die and ends up asking to lose any chance or reproduction.
- King Duncan and Banquo arrive at the Macbeth palace and greet Lady Macbeth
- Macbeth doesn't want to kill the King at the moment, but Lady Macbeth questions his manhood and comes up with a plan to do it anyways.

MEET MACBETH
Macbeth is introduced through indirect characterization because Shakespeare uses the slaughter by Macbeth to introduce him as ruthless and merciful, getting right to the point as to who Macbeth really is. The witches foreshadow Macbeth's ascension to the throne by murdering his fellow thanes and be sole ruler of his people. Shakespeare explains the exposition more aggressively by describing the actions of Macbeth rather than have some sort of build up, which in turn sets a tone for an even more twisted play than he ever did. Shakespeare towards Macbeth show that this will be a very violent and sadistic story and he conveys that by showing how savage Macbeth can be when need be. The main theme I believe that was shown through Macbeth was accomplish anything at all costs no matter how evil the intentions are.

THIS IS ONLY A TEST
I sort of decided to change my masterpiece from sports motivation in general to seeing what I am able to do to motivate the Righetti football team because I know they have great potential, they just need to get into the right mindset and have the passion that is essential for them to work as a team. My biggest challenge is finding the right things to show the team and have the courage to tell them that they can be more than just an average central coast high school football team.

HUXLEY'S BRAVE NEW WORLD
I felt as if I got more insight as to why Aldous Huxley thinks that the world may turn into his brave new world. He made some valid points that warn us about the possibilities, but I do not see the world how he predicts as of this moment. At first I believed that this was not a possibility, but after hearing some of his arguments, I can definitely see his theory transpire, not in the immediate future, but in the distant future. But as long as we take caution to his words we will be fine and not have to deal with the brave new world type of world.

Literature Analysis #6

Period 3
The Great Gatsby
1. This story takes place in the summer of 1922, the beginnings of the roaring twenties. The main character, Nick Carraway, has taken a job as a bond salesman and buys a house next to the very wealthy Jay Gatsby. Nick gets invited by his cousin Daisy to have dinner with herself and Tom Buchanan. They introduce him to Jordan Baker , and they begin an intimate relationship. Jordan tells Nick about Tom's affair with a woman named Myrtle Wilson and soon after the two go along with Tom as he meets up with Myrtle at an apartment that they own together. This is a very strange party when Tom ends up breaking Myrtle's nose. One day Nick gets an invitation form Gatsby himself to attend one of his parties. With Jordan at the party, they meet Gatsby and then make arrangements to have lunch with Gatsby. Nick then finds out that Gatsby and Daisy had a relationship and his parties are just to impress her. Gatsby turns to Nick and persuades him to have Daisy visit Nick's house in order for them to once again rekindle their flame. The two begin an affair shortly after and as Tom becomes more and more suspicious, he finally figures out that Daisy is in love with Gatsby. So in turn, Tom decides to confront Gatsby about this affair. Tom tells Daisy about how Gatsby has all this illegal money, which makes her realize that she is more loyal to Tom. As Tom, Nick, and Jordan go back home, they find out that Myrtle was ran over by a car, which turned out to be Daisy with Gatsby as the passenger. Myrtle's husband George the kills Gatsby, believing him to be her lover and the one who ran her over, then he kills himself. After witnessing all this, Nick breaks up with Jordan and moves back to the Midwest after all he had witnessed that summer.
2. The theme of this novel is to not hold on to the past because things may never be how they used to be. Moving on is what is best in some of these situations or you will see a negative that occurs.
3. The tone of this novel is very judgmental because Nick always questions the motives of his company. This is seen most in the end when he decides to leave because he did not want to be apart of the Eastern lifestyle that he witnessed over the summer.
Characterization
1. Direct characterization- The author directly describes Tom Buchanan by stating how wealthy he is and how physically gifted he was, especially at football. Fitzgerald was able to describe Myrtle as not being physically appealing but had something about her that attracted Tom.
Indirect Characterization- The way they describe Gatsby's parties shows ho extravagant of a person he is. Nick was not really talked much about physically, but the way other people perceived him showed his characterization.
2. Fitzgerald's diction does not change because the characters are familiar with each other and are able to communicate with their natural accents with one another.
3. Nick Carraway would be a static character because he always was questioning his peers' motives and actions, it was just further emphasized when he decided to move back to the Midwest.
4. I feel like I identified with Nick because he was never really comfortable with the New York lifestyle and this relates to me because I cannot see myself in the same lifestyle because I never placed any importance on material items.

10 QUESTIONS
I have no idea who my expert is but these are the questions I have for when I find my expert:
- Why do we watch sports?
- Why do we use sports as motivation?
- What motivates people to spend money to watch these people play sports?
- What motivates someone to be the greatest?
- Why do they want to put their body into so much stress if they are already at the top of their game?
- Why are fans motivated to win against their rivals?
- Why are rivalry games more intense than games against another opponent?
- Why do we like to build someone up to only bring them down from their high point?
- Do we live our dreams through these athletes or even our own familiar student athletes?
- What is the purpose of everything that I just asked in the previous questions or what is the purpose of rooting for people to succeed?
